2 Men Plead Not Guilty in Overdose Deaths of 3 Kansas City Chiefs Fans After Game
Two men, Jordan Willis and Ivory Carson, pleaded not guilty Thursday in connection with the fatal drug overdoses of three Kansas City Chiefs fans. The victims were found dead in a backyard two days after gathering to watch the team’s final regular-season game in January 2024.
Willis and Carson appeared via video from jail, dressed in orange jumpsuits, as they faced charges of involuntary manslaughter and drug delivery. The case, which sparked widespread speculation on social media, involves the deaths of Ricky Johnson, 38, Clayton McGeeney, 36, and David Harrington, 37, whose bodies were discovered in Willis’ Kansas City yard on Jan. 9, 2024.
Willis’ attorney, John Picerno, entered the not guilty plea on his behalf, while the judge did the same for Carson, who plans to seek a public defender. The brief hearing set the stage for a bond review next Tuesday, with bail currently set at $100,000 cash.
For months, the case remained shrouded in mystery, fueling rumors on platforms like TikTok and prompting families of the victims to demand answers. McGeeney’s fiancée had initially gone searching for him, leading to the grim discovery. Now, as the legal process unfolds, questions linger about the events that led to the tragic loss of three lives.
